Presented by The Source Weekly
Hosted by the Downtown Bend Business Association
As summer fades, fall gracefully eases its way onto the scene and provides a gentle landing into winter. A time to harvest and give thanks, to rest from summer’s endless pursuit of sunshine and to prepare for the flurry of winter; fall is the perfect time to give thanks and to enjoy a community gathering.
The Bank of the Cascades Bend Fall Festival, presented by The Source Weekly will bring a celebration of all things fall to downtown Bend Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Fall-themed activities-yodeling anyone?-music, art, and food will thrill attendees of all ages.
Two music stages, the Clear 101.7 fm Mainstage on Oregon Avenue and KPOV Local’s Only Stage in the Wells Fargo parking lot, will provide a mix of local and regional talent such as Supersuckers, Hill Stomp, Leif James and Moon Mountain Ramblers.
Be sure to visit the Carrera Oktoberfest Biergarten located on Oregon Avenue. Enjoy Oktoberfest entertainers with a pint of one of the rare beer selections from Deschutes Brewery released exclusively for the Fall Festival. Don’t miss the festival-wide Hops Happy Hour from 2 pm - 5 pm when all beers are a $1 off. Food vendors, Red Napkin and Spork, will be on hand with gourmet Oktoberfest fare to complete the ultimate Oktoberfest Experience.
The Food Court area located in the Wells Fargo Parking Lot with entrances on Oregon Avenue and Wall Street will offer a delicious selection of food options to satisfy any cravings that occur throughout attendee’s exploration of the Festival. Options range from local favorite Longboard Louie’s to the refreshing new-kid on the block Pho Viet Café and everything in-between.
The Artist Promenade located on Wall Street between Oregon Avenue and Franklin Street, will feature the work of over 100 talented artists specializing in a variety of mediums including jewelry, clothing, photography and sculpture.
Best of Jury winner Reiko Archer’s numo felted scarves are sure to please and are a must-have accessory for the coming winter. The Artist Runway showcase-a new addition to the festival- held on the Clear 101.7 fm Mainstage, will showcase other must-have items from lines such as Jonny Sport, Bella Sisters, Flood Clothing, and Blossom Mertz.
For the 11th year, the Souk de Fall Festival outdoor market is a shopper’s delight with a plethora of unique world items for sale. This area is located on Oregon Avenue between Wall Street and Brooks Street.
And it would not be a Fall Festival without a hay maze, pumpkin painting, wagon rides, apple bobbing, and an inflatables area. New this year is a costume swap where attendees can trade costumes to ensure they are not stuck wearing last year’s costume at Halloween. These activities can be found on Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
The festival’s offerings also include the Harvest Market and Conscious Living Showcase located between Greenwood Avenue and Oregon Avenue on Wall Street. The Harvest Market will showcase the bounty of our region’s best such as Severson Farms, Cada Dia Cheese, Chameng Family Farms and many more-allowing attendees to enjoy the tastes of fall.
The Conscious Living Showcase is a perfect partner for the Harvest Market as it features local businesses that are on the forefront of the green movement and businesses that promote wellness in life.

Reiko Archer was born in Tokoyo, Japan. She has been an artist her entire life. Before coming to the US, Reiko developed a passion for fiber arts. She began spinning her own yarn and dying it with colors from wild plants. Then she would use her hand spun-hand-colored yarn to weave fiber creations. She discovered numo felting after moving to Oregon in 2002. She taught herself the process, then created her own techniques that you will see incoporated in her unique designs at the Festival. Congratulations Reiko!
