A festival, steeped in the tradition of fine art, fine wines, fine foods, and fine music, is proud to expand this year, on the backs of some world class musical talent at every corner, of every block. Toad the Wet Sprocket? Ottmar Liebert and La Luna Negra? Coco Montoya? Night Ranger? The Dirt Drifters? All free in the same weekend? A huge shout out is in order to Combined Communications for bringing their two Listener Appreciation Events down to Troy Field Friday and Saturday nights of our Festival, adding instant credibility and expansion to the event. Now the Festival will span more than 8 downtown blocks and feature more than 150 artisans and crafters, a variety of commercial booths, more than 30 musical acts between four robust stages, fine craft beers and artisan wins, gourmet foods, more than 25 local and regional restaurants and caterers, live demonstrations of art, and interesting journeys into art and fun for families and their children.
Sometimes, stepping "Out of the Woods" also means "finding your way back home." In keeping with this tradition, we are please to also announce our associations with old friends and longtime former partners The Source Weekly and Deschutes Brewery. These fine partners will bring you the good words and the good tastes you have come to expect at this Festival.
And so, on behalf of the hundreds of volunteers, staff, sponsors, and patrons who have all contributed to the 2011 Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival, let us invite you to join us and Live It!
Come down to the streets of Downtown Bend on Oregon Avenue Friday, July 8th from 5-11pm, where Tony Smiley and MOsley WOtta will set the table for our Summer Festival Kick Off Event, with Toad the Wet Sprocket performing at the Clear 101.7 Mainstage. That same night, on Troy Field (near McMenamins), nab a free ticket by listening to Classic Rock 98.3 The Twins, and come down to enjoy Bend's Sagebrush Rock, The Show, and Night Ranger--all performing for free! The good times continue on Saturday, July 10th from 11am to 11pm and Sunday, July 10th from 11am to 6pm, where local bands knock it out of the park on the KPOV Locals Only stage; where Amalia's Jazz, Wine, and Gourmet Foods stage comes alive with the sounds of Ottmar Liebert and Coco Montoya; where Rise Up will present music, intention, and artful design; and where Saxon's Fine Jewelers bring you the Gospel N Brunch experience on the Clear 101.7 Mainstage. And The Source Weekly will take your children on an odyssey of art, music, play, and fun!
And, of course, there is no admission to the festival---largely due to the continued generosity of Bank of the Cascades!

C3 Events has dedicated an entire block (the stretch of Wall Street between Oregon Avenue and Greenwood Avenue) in an effort to support local commercial and non-profit companies and organizations making a difference in our community. This includes a "Green Living Showcase"--where the public can explore vendors demonstrating the "art of green living." We are also featuring a "Naturally You Wellness Expo," where the public can explore the art of staying vital in the midst of a stressful life. The "dot" on this "i" is a stage and booth space hosted by the luminary non-profit Rise Up, who has been making a difference internationally; they will be hosting a musical stage at the end of this street celebrating justice and community.
